But it’s good to share and learn about other artists and their art.

I’d never heard of Damien Hirst or his art (you need to see it), 'For the Love of God', so enjoy.

Damien Hirst, For the Love of God, 2007

Damien Hirst is one of the most controversial figures in the art scene today.

With his dead animals preserved in formaldehyde artworks selling for as much as £50.000, he is one of the highest-paid artists of his time, and also one of the most heavily criticized.

For the Love of God is a platinum cast of a human skull, which Hirst encrusted with 8601 diamonds.

This artwork was sold for the highest price ever paid for a work by a living artist, at £50 million – while it cost £14 million to produce it.

The work is meant to question the morality of art and money. The way that Hirst has created a brand for himself as an artist has disgusted and inspired many, but either way, he has undoubtedly left quite the mark on the art world.

It can help, but it can also shake foundations if: - It's not used responsibly - We're not aware that it's happening right now

- We don't help others be aware that this is happening

- We don't stay vigilant

I am not resounding Vikas' opinion about AI users being 'lazy af'. I am however very thankful that he's shared this. I hope you share it too.

Hello all! : ) I’m AG and DA’s Community Volunteer for Synthography (AI).

This means I can award Daily Deviations to work generated by AI. That’s pretty much all it means! That and It's an honour.

GUIDELINES

Any suggested work must be tagged and submitted as AI, regardless of whether it is for sale.

This means when you upload the work:

1. You must check the box marked ‘Yes’ next to ‘Was this created utilizing AI tools?’

2. You must include the tag ‘ai’ with the work.

3. (optional) Include ‘synthography’ in the tags

Currently, I will not be accepting any sexually explicit or overtly suggestive material for a synthography DD.

Work submitted as ‘Mature’ for other reasons will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

All suggested work must have your reason for suggesting it. For more help, click here. There will be a link there soon. Promise.

Suggested work cannot be behind a paywall or ‘Watchers Only’.

Send me your suggestion in a Note. 1. The subject should be ‘DD Suggestion’. 2. Insert a link to the suggested work. 3. Include the title. 4. Provide your reasons for suggesting it.

There is a ‘6-month rule’, so a synthographer cannot receive another DD if they have had one in the last 6 months. Don't worry if you can’t see if a Deviant had a Daily Deviation in the six months prior to your suggestion. Send it to me, and I’ll see if it's possible.

The Deviant you suggest must have been active on DA for the past 3 months.

Please send synthography suggestions to only ONE Community Volunteer (CV). Do not send the same suggestion to multiple people, as it can cause confusion and possibly affect the decision.

Anyone can suggest a Daily Deviation, and yes, self-suggesting is allowed.

I'm sharing something personal and I'll tell you why in a minute. I recently wrote this on my Deviousness journal on DA:

'I noticed deviants shared things they didn’t or couldn’t share elsewhere: pain, sadness, unrecognised achievements, loneliness, happiness, a helping hand, a shoulder to lean on, love, and so much more'

I also said this about DA:

' It has its issues, like any family, but as long as I’m on, it’ll still be my other family.'

And I thought about all the 'wonderful' things fellow deviants wrote on that Deviousness page. [sarcasm intended]

This morning my mother was admitted to the hospital. ER and then on to even nicer things. On ventilator. Not good. Probably won't see her again. It is what it is.

I've been alone for many years, but not lonely.

I left her at the hospital and realised something.

I literally don't have anyone to turn to but you!

Today, I was lonely.

I thought about all the problems we seem to have with DA, the staff, the monetizing, AI, Eclipse, UI/UX, etc. Yeah, all that is important.

And here I am, writing to you. I don't need pity. I don't need hugs. I don't need anything. I'd probably prefer it if you didn't leave a comment. This was enough. But, you know what?

YOU'RE MY BLOODY FAMILY! 😮

13 years ago, I lost someone on DA. I couldn't help her. I tried. She didn't make it through. She went bye bye.

Yes, it sucked. It wasn't easy.

DON'T FORGET WHAT SOME ACTUALLY HAVE HERE!

We might end up saving someone's life one day

And we'll never know it.
