This is a 2 hour or so drive from our place. It's quite the hike to get there, but it's more than worth it; every time. It doesn't matter what the weather is like, it's always got a beauty of its own.
After the sight, all you notice is the silence and the smell. Just clean crisp air. Personally, I like it when it's not sunny there. A little mist does me just fine. One of those treasures. If you enjoyed this, please check out ~Indeficienter's piece here: [link] Comments

Vision: The sky is what makes this photo what it is, plain and simple.
Originality: We've all seen photos of mountains and hills in the past. While it is always an interesting view, that's all you portray in this photograph. When I see this, all I can think of is "tourist shot"
Technique: The horizon is straight, and the diffused light from the weather has some interest as well. Composition is where you lose the most points though. Why not step out of your comfort zone and go for that "wow" effect? Shooting at a wider angle with a foreground subject would help add depth and much more interest to the scene. I can also see myself here with an ND filter waiting for the early morning or late evening light to get some long exposures.
Impact: I gave you the most points here simply because I have a strong interest in the subject. The gloomy sky makes it look like the weather can turn at any second, while the break in the clouds near the top allow some sun to shine on the water below. I also have a soft spot for geology.
Overall: Composition, composition, composition. Can't stress that enough! I would suggest shooting at a wider angle, having a foreground subject of interest, and following the infamous rule of thirds.
